William IV Circa 1835 mahogany extending dining table. A rare table with a very adaptable pull out/push together action. Shown in the photograph with 3 leaves and measuring 119cm wide by 198cm long (seats 8). Ring turned slender legs with brass casters and an ebony strung frieze. One leaf is original (31cm) the other 2 repacements(each 22cm) made from period solid mahogany.
This table without the leaves will reduce down to an amazing 64cm x 119cm wide!
It can be used with no leaves and the side flaps up (supported by lopers) as a small breakfast table/ writing table or with various othe combinations of leaves to seat 4, 6 or 8 persons.
It will actually take another leaf and extend to 230cm long seating 10 but this is missing.
